02 Apr What is Private Home Care?
INTRODUCTION
As you begin the search to find extra help for your loved one, you’ll likely come across “private home care” among the list of options. While private home care can generally refer to nonmedical caregiver services provided within the comfort of one’s home, En Su Casa specifically offers Private Care Services with customizable plans to cover all aspects of care for the home, mind, body, and spirit. These tailored services allow our clients to enjoy complete independence without any sacrifice to safety or comfort – even if they have highly specialized care needs.
In this blog, we’ll walk through the main services included with our Private Care plans, and we’ll also compare this option with other similar in-home care service plans.
WHAT ARE COMMON PRIVATE HOME CARE SERVICES?
While care often depends on our clients’ specific needs, our Private Care Services generally include the following tasks of daily living:
- Personal hygiene assistance (e.g. help with bathing, toileting, and grooming)
- Transfer and ambulation assistance throughout the home
- Home management, cleaning, and laundry
- Transportation to appointments, meetings, and social gatherings
- Assistance with light range-of-motion or muscle-strengthening exercises
- Assistance with eating, meal preparation, and grocery shopping
- Dressing assistance
- Aiding with self-administered medications
- Companionship, quality time, and support for personal hobbies
In addition to these general tasks, our Private Care Services feature highly customizable options to ensure even the most specialized client needs are met, including…
- 24/7 full-time care, or part-time care based on a customizable hourly plan
- Short-term care for recovery, or long-term care for more complex or evolving situations
- Memory care for dementia and Alzheimer’s
- Officially vendorized and contracted with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide in-home care services to Veterans
…plus, much more! Our Private Care Services also include a thorough assessment to evaluate each client’s needs and preferences. Prior to beginning services, an in-home safety check is conducted to identify potential hazards and offer solutions. We also provide frequent in-home evaluations and ongoing caregiver supervision.

HOW TO PAY FOR PRIVATE CARE SERVICES
The average price of in-home care services ranges from $25-$30 per hour. Caregiver schedules can also be customized from week to week. Thus, allowing for adjustments based on what you can comfortably afford.
While En Su Casa’s Personal Assistance Services are covered by Medicaid for eligible clients, our Private Care Services are paid for directly by the client, the client’s family, or through long-term insurance plans.
PRIVATE CARE VS. PERSONAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES
Both our Private Care Services and Personal Assistance Services allow our clients to continue living independently and safely within the comfort of their own home. In addition, both plans support general activities of daily living, but Private Care Services cover an even broader scope and provide more customizable options tailored to each client. These services are offered completely a la carte, so clients can pick and choose the best plan for their schedule and unique needs.
The other key difference between these two services is payment. As mentioned above, Personal Assistance Services can be fully covered by Medicaid, while Private Care Services are paid for directly by the client or insurance. Our team can help you determine the best plan based on your financial situation.
