31 Jan Achieve Mental Wellness by Hiring a Caregiver
Whether you participated in self-care January or not, it’s never too late to invest in a little more TLC for yourself. This is where caregiving can be a huge help. Many of our clients have found stress relief and improved their mental wellness by trusting us to care for their loved ones. After putting so much of their time and energy into caring for someone else, our services can really provide much needed balance and rest.
First-time clients are also usually surprised at how flexible caregiver services are and they’re unaware of all the ways they can leverage these services beyond the more common long-term care plans. So, we’ve put together a quick refresher on some benefits and types of services that we provide here at En Su Casa.
Part-time/Short-term Care
This is often referred to as respite care, which provides short-term, temporary relief to primary caregivers. This is a great option if you’re the main caretaker of your loved one, but you need a few extra hours of support to run errands or take care of appointments. Short-term care plans are also helpful for clients who are recovering from a surgery or illness. Services can be arranged for an afternoon to several days or weeks.
Full-time/Long-term Care
Long-term care is recommended for clients who are aging or have a chronic and/or progressive health condition, such as dementia or Alzheimer’s. The goal of this type of care is to preserve the client’s quality of life, so they can continue living within the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible.
En Su Casa’s Services – Private Care & PAS
Both part-time/short-term and full-time/long-term care plans apply to En Su Casa’s private care services and personal assistance services (PAS):
- Private Care – A highly customizable care plan that covers a broad scope of services to meet the unique needs of each individual. These plans are paid for directly by the client, the client’s family, or through long-term insurance plans.
- Personal Assistance Services – Provide assistance for the fundamental daily activities of living and clients who are eligible can receive full coverage through Medicaid.
Specialized Care for Veterans
En Su Casa is officially vendorized and contracted to provide Veteran care services. Our team of caregivers have been carefully screened and trained to adequately meet the specific needs of our Veteran clients.
- Homemaker Services – The VA has a special program for Veterans called Homemaker or Home Health Aide services to assist with daily activities and personal care needs. This program is for Veterans who need skilled services, case management and help with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, fixing meals or taking medicines.
- Respite Care – A temporary service that pays for someone to visit a Veteran’s home, so the family caregiver can leave and tend to his or her own personal needs. This can help lower the stress by allowing the caregiver to run errands or go out of town for a few days, knowing the Veteran is receiving care.
